Broadening of optical lines originating from Rydberg states : a simple model

A simple Fermi-type model that connects the broadening cross-sections of optical Rydberg lines to elastic and inelastic collisional cross-section is proposed and discussed.
Résumé
Un modèle simple qui permet de relier l'élargissement des raies optiques, issues des niveaux de Rydberg, aux sections efficaces de collisions élastiques et inélastiques est présenté et discuté.
