Studies in double resonance and optical pumping
4 Sandfield Road, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7RG, England
The early work on double resonance and optical pumping at the Clarendon Laboratory is recalled, with emphasis on the interaction between the work in Oxford and that in Paris. An appendix gives a theory of the optical pumping cycle adapted for polarization-modulated, broad-band light.
